Fearless

“Oh how great a love the Father has lavished on us that we would be called the children of God!” The more I learn about my Father, the more I understand that the love of God is far beyond what I can absorb. Tangible and intangible, seen and unseen, it is without and within me all at once.

When my day is fast-paced and unbridled, my Father’s love reaches into the very core of my being and settles itself to declare peace. It is the beginning of everything I believe in and the most perfectly daring reason for living in faith.

For the past seven weeks, we have been studying faith, hope and love at DPKids. We talked about how the Father’s perfect love casts out fear. I had a chance to ask some of the kids to explain what that verse means to them. Here are some of their answers:

“Love means never being afraid to make a mistake.” ~boy, age 12

“Love means never being afraid when you’re asleep.” ~girl, age 9

“Love means never being afraid to be myself.” ~boy, age 8

“Love means never being afraid of the dark.” ~girl, age 5

“Love means never being afraid to go on roller coasters.” ~girl, age 9

“Love means never being afraid of dying.” ~boy, age 8

“Love means never being afraid of Satan.” ~boy, age 6

“Love means never being afraid of fear itself.” ~boy, age 10

“Love means never being afraid of alligators.” ~boy, age 7

“Love means never being afraid to love people.” ~girl, age 6

“Love means never being afraid to be beautiful.” ~girl, age 9

Somehow I think these kids have come to know a love that is not of this world. A love that meets every need and answers every question we could ask. His perfect love is available to every one and we have the opportunity to become as a child in His care. “See how great a love the Father has lavished on us that we would be called the children of God!”

Let us be lavished in His love and come out fearless!
